Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a ubiquitin-like protein that isconjugated to intracellular target proteins upon activation byinterferon-alpha and interferon-beta. Several functions have been ascribedto the encoded protein, including chemotactic activity towards neutrophils, direction of ligated target proteins to intermediate filaments, cell-to-cellsignaling, and antiviral activity during viral infections. While conjugatesof this protein have been found to be noncovalently attached to intermediatefilaments, this protein is sometimes secreted.
Almost no expression was observed throughout all samples. The Ebola virus23 h human cells sample was slightly higher expressed.
